Some Irish Fun!
My little leprechauns and I had a fun day today...

I found out that the Elm Creek Nature Reserve was having a St. Patrick's day celebration. It sounded quite fun and would get us outside to boot! It's been BEAUTIFUL the past 4 days!
Grandma Trish, Auntie Mo, Riley, Auntie Meg, Adee and our friends Tricia, Ethan & Karris and Katie and Anna also joined us for the fun.
The event started with a puppet show about the colors of the rainbow and finding gold at the end. Then it was onto some arts and crafts where the kids made shamrock wands and Irish hats.

Then it was outside for a nature hike to find the colors of the rainbow and the leprechauns pot of gold and some shamrocks too.

Love this picture of Riley in mid jump! :-)

Then we came inside for some treats...
Zack and Ethan.

...dancing and hugging...

...and got to get up close to some green animals. No, Zack didn't touch the animals. :-)

We had a fun time with all our buddies.
Note: The green boots you see on the cousins are from Grandma Trish and Grandpa Tom. It was a perfect day to put them to good use. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
Also...I think I win for the best Irish meals my dear sisters.
Breakfast: Irish Soda bread and green scrambled eggs, (Zack doesn't like green eggs and ham though). :-) with green milk the, "leprechauns changed".
Lunch: Corn beef sandwich for me, Zack had a peanut butter and honey sandwich cut in the shape of a shamrock. Then we had green grapes and green finger jello in the shape of....shamrocks of course. Didn't quite get to the shamrock cookies though. We stayed at the nature center for lunch and he was too busy chasing Ethan around.
Dinner: I made an Irish stew in my crock pot!
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
An Irish Prayer
May the leprechauns be near you
to spread luck along your way,
And may all the Irish angels
smile on you each and every day!
If you need some good Irish humor you should check out my friend Michelle's blog. She's been putting a bit of Irish fun on all month! :-)

Play time with the Big Cousins
I can't believe it's March already! Where has the time gone? I'm very sorry I've been neglecting my duties on this blog. I'll try to catch up. Starting with February and backtracking from there.
Well, back at the beginning of February we had a lot of fun spending time with Auntie Staci, Uncle Sean, Meghan, Emily, Grandma D and Grandpa Al. They came into town the Thursday before Kiley's baptism and left on the following Tuesday.

The girls have grown so much! Meghan will be 7 this month and Emily is 4. It was a lot of fun watching Zack play with them. He was quite in awe of them and kept trying to get Meghan's attention away from Coko....

... and Emily's attention away from Kiley.

Zack is missing his cousins to this day!
Just last week Zack was saying that he, Meghan, and Emily were going to enter a singing contest. May have had something to do with the "Rock Band" they were forming in our family room.

Emily wasn't quite so fond of Coko when she first came to visit us. It took her a while to warm up to her when she would come over to our house each day but by the end of the trip Em was petting Coko and looking for kisses. I think Coko misses Meghan and Emily too. :-)

I know I miss Meghan and Emily a lot! The girls were a big help to me while they were here. Each day was one of the girls turn to help me with diaper changes and changing her cloths. They made sure each morning that I remembered who's turn it was to help me that day. :-)

And Grandma and Grandpa got some snuggle time with all of the grandkids.

Meghan also took some time to read to Zack too. She is in 1st grade but already reading chapter books! Staci says she is reading at a 5th grade level!!! Did I mention she is 7??? So smart!
Uncle Sean and Auntie Staci got a few chances to hold Kiley too. :-)

Our Little Fish
Grandma, Grandpa and the Barry's stayed at a hotel near by when they were here for a visit so we went over to swim in the pool a couple of times. Zack loved it! He was kicking away. He was a little confused though at first. He's never been to a pool before, only a lake, so when we said we were going to go swimming he said, "Meghan and Emily are fishing at the pool".
