Zack's First Communion

On May 4th Zack made his first communion for the first time!

We are so excited and proud of him. He read the first reading for the mass that day and sang a song with the other 1st Communion kids. He did a wonderful job. Here are the videos.

 

 

Zack's First Reconciliation

Very proud of Zack. Also on Saturday December 7th Zack made his first reconciliation (Darin was with Kiley, I was with Zack). 

He did great but he forgot about the absolution blessing so once Fr. Paul (pastor of his school who was helping out at our church) put his hand up to bless him and Zack gave him a high 5! He thought he was congratulating him on a good job with his confession.

Gave the parents behind us and Fr. Paul a good little tension release.   Also made our pastor, Fr. Brad's day on Sunday I told him.  I've never seen him laugh so hard.  :-)

Finishing 1st Grade With Style!

Today Zack graduated from 1st grade with accolades!  Attached is the all school awards ceremony where Zack one an award for Outstanding Academic Achievement!!

When he got off the bus he told me he got more awards in his classroom!  Math, Reading and Spelling Awards! Along with his 1st Grade completion award and his Outstanding Academic Achievement Award (Given to the kids with the highest grade point average)

We are two very proud parents!  :-)

Mini Wrestling

Last month Zack's school had a mini wrestling session.  Basically an intro to wrestling for the K-3rd graders with a meet after their 2 weeks of practice.  Zack really wanted to do it so we agreed.

 

He went 3-0 with 2 pins and I'm told, by my former high school wrestling cheerleader Auntie Mo, he won another by a major decision.  1st place out of 4 kids in his bracket.

A Little Christmas Cheer Early

This past week was lots of fun.  Both Zack and Kiley performed some Christmas songs.  Last Sunday Kiley and our niece Riley entertained the chruch crowd with their Sunday school classses.  They did a fantastic job!  Click on the link below to see the show (2 songs):

1st Day of School!

Can't believe the first day of school is already here!  Zack is on his way to first grade today!  He is super excited.  He got the teacher he wanted and lots of his friends from last year are in his class this year.  Last night when asking him what he is looking most forward to in 1st grade, "Playing kickball again!"  Guess Kiley and I weren't enough of a game for him.  ;-)

 

How Can it Be That Our Little Man is 6?

Today our boy turns 6 years old!!  I can't believe it.  He is so excited of course!  :-)  He is such an amazing little man.  He is doing so well in school, reading Magic Tree house books on his own!  Math problems are no problem at all.  He has learned so much this year!  He also still has his love of sports too.  This year's birthday theme was Vikings football, since he did the Twins baseball theme last year.  :-)  Here are some pictures from our family party.

This year we had a special guest!  Auntie Staci was in town for a graduation open house for her Godson which was timed nicely with Zack's party!  Grandma Diane and Grandpa Al also were in town for Zack's celebration!

Tooth Numer 2 is Out!

Tonight after we put Zack to bed he came back down because his tooth was hurting.  It was REALLY loose and he'd been playing with it.  So we asked him if he'd like us to pull it out.  And I did!  He was so giggly about it!  It was so cute!!!  Then we went upstairs to put the tooth in the new toothfairy pillow my sister found for me and I said, "Bye tooth,"  and he said, I kid you not, "Hello Money!".  :-)  SOOOOOO FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a really long tooth!  No wonder it took weeks to come out!

Zack is so excited to have lost his first tooth tonight!  He couldn't wait to get the tooth up to his bedroom and under his pillow!  :-)

New Rooms

Because of Kiley's collarbone we decided we needed to get Kiley in a bigger bed.  One that she wouldn't fall out of!  Here are the new set ups for the kids' rooms.

Grandma Diane, Grandpa Al, Grandma Trish and Grandpa Tom joined Kiley and I at the bus stop to see our boy get off the bus. Grandma Trish brought a great treat! DQ ice cream cake for the occasion.  

  

Then it was baseball as usual for Zack. He couldn't get the bat out quick enough! :-)

Now, anyone have advice on how to get a lost jacket back from the bus? He forgot it on the bus coming home. Hope the bus driver found it and kept it for us tomorrow! Fingers crossed! :-)

First Day of Kindergarten!!!

Today is Zack's first day of kindergarten!!  (Not sure why this 1st picture is uploading this way.)  He was very excited and didn't shed one tear!  That was all left to me but I held it together until the bus took off.  :-)  
We had to wake him up ourselves because the noise of the radio alarm clock did not wake him up! He was snoring away with his head a foot away from the alarm.  ;-)  Can't blame him!  He has to catch the bus at 6:30 a.m.!  He's in all day kindergarten and will be home by 2:30!

(This one is loading funny too.)  He hopped right on the bus and was on his way!  I'll post a picture of him coming off the school bus later.  We can see how tired he looks then.  :-)

Happy Birthday To The Best 5 Year Old Ever!

Today our favorite Twins fan turns 5 year old!!!   

We can't believe how the time has passed!  But I think I say that every year.  This past Saturday we celebrated his birthday with my family.  Al, Diane, Great-Grandma Delores and Great-Grandma Cooley couldn't make it and we missed them lots.  Hopefully these pictures will help.
