I found out that the Elm Creek Nature Reserve was having a St. Patrick's day celebration. It sounded quite fun and would get us outside to boot! It's been BEAUTIFUL the past 4 days!
Grandma Trish, Auntie Mo, Riley, Auntie Meg, Adee and our friends Tricia, Ethan & Karris and Katie and Anna also joined us for the fun.
The event started with a puppet show about the colors of the rainbow and finding gold at the end. Then it was onto some arts and crafts where the kids made shamrock wands and Irish hats.
Then it was outside for a nature hike to find the colors of the rainbow and the leprechauns pot of gold and some shamrocks too.
Love this picture of Riley in mid jump! :-)
Then we came inside for some treats...
...dancing and hugging...
...and got to get up close to some green animals. No, Zack didn't touch the animals. :-)
We had a fun time with all our buddies.
Note: The green boots you see on the cousins are from Grandma Trish and Grandpa Tom. It was a perfect day to put them to good use. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!
Also...I think I win for the best Irish meals my dear sisters.
Breakfast: Irish Soda bread and green scrambled eggs, (Zack doesn't like green eggs and ham though). :-) with green milk the, "leprechauns changed".
Lunch: Corn beef sandwich for me, Zack had a peanut butter and honey sandwich cut in the shape of a shamrock. Then we had green grapes and green finger jello in the shape of....shamrocks of course. Didn't quite get to the shamrock cookies though. We stayed at the nature center for lunch and he was too busy chasing Ethan around.
Dinner: I made an Irish stew in my crock pot!
