Happy 4th Birthday Collin!

Happy Birthday to our wonderful Godson Collin!

He is such a wonderful little man and we are so happy to be a special part of his life. We hope you are having a fun day and love you lots!

We've had lots of fun with the birthday boy in the past few months but of course I'm a little behind in posting stuff so the next two blogs are in honor of Collin!

Celebrating with Collin

Yesterday we celebrated Collin's special day at his birthday party. He had a sports themed day and Michelle and Doug created a mini, mini golf course. The kids loved it!

And lots more fun was had. It was a beautiful day.

Then it was ice cream cake time! (Uncle Duck, you will love Kiley's DQ face!)

And music time!

It was a very fun day and my little man who doesn't usually put up a fight when we have to leave had a few tears as we left. It was a great day!

Summer Fun with Collin

Back in July we spent a fun night out on the Rosenau's boat fishing, then to the beach for some play time at the park and a picnic.

All of the kids got to take a turn "driving" the boat.

Then once a spot was scoped out the fishing rods came out.


I do have to say that Kiley smoked the boys with the amount of fish she caught! She would just barely get her line in the water and the fish were biting...

...granted none of them were very big! But it was fun! And it was the first fishes that Zack caught this summer. He was skunked on our family vacation in June.

After we got to the beach the kids "washed off" and then were off to play.

It was lots of fun and a beautiful night.

Then in August we got the chance to watch Collin for Michelle and Doug which the kids enjoyed a lot! We think Kiley has found her first crush! When she woke from her nap she asked, "Where's MY Collin?" And when she found him she wanted to sit by him every where he went!

There was lots of play time and a little tea time too. Grandma Diane even got to play.

It is so fun watching the kids play together and grow up together. To think this all came to be because of great luck at St. Thomas and the JPII dorm where Michelle and I met. It is so much fun and we love play time with the Rosenau's! We love you guys!

First Day of Preschool!

Today was Zack's first day of Discovery 4's & 5's Preschool! We got to meet his teacher (and mine) on Wednesday night and today began our last year before Kindergarten! He will be going to school 3 times a week in the mornings (a new time for us), one of the days I actually stay and have a parent ed class too. Kiley then goes into sib care to play.

Zack was all ready to go to school today and couldn't wait to get going. Kiley wanted to go to school too but Zack kept telling her she didn't get to go, (hence the angry look in the picture). HE also wanted to make sure I got a picture of his Lightning McQueen backpack. He's quite proud of it, even if it is too big for him!

Upon arrival we were still excited and he wanted to make sure I got another picture of him with his backpack! He went off into the room without a second glance!

Then Kiley and I enjoyed some Mommy, daughter time which is very rare in our house since the kids wake up at the same time and go to bed at the same time and Zack doesn't nap!

We played at the park for a while, went shopping and had a little snack at Starbucks then back to school for a little more park time and then to pick up Zack.

Zack had a great time in class. He said it was lots of fun. But if you ask him what he did, all he will tell you about is playing on the playground. Typical boy! Not much to say.

On the way home I decided we should celebrate the day by going to McDonald's for lunch. Well who do you suppose we ran into there? Our buddies Ethan, Karis and Tricia! They had just arrived too! So we joined them for lunch and ice cream.

Zack and Ethan are not in the same preschool class this year and both boys are a bit bummed by this so it was quite a nice surprise to find them at the same place for lunch!

All in all a good day to start off the school year!

We'd like to wish our beautiful niece Emily a very Happy Birthday!
Kiley is "calling" Emily right now to wish Emmy a happy birthday too! :-)

We hope you have lots of fun and are enjoying kindergarten!!! We miss you and love you!

Here's a little of our miscellaneous summer fun.

Our Little Girl is 2 Today!

I cannot believe that 2 years ago our little Kiley was born! She has changed so much in a year and is quite the character!


She loves to play dress up and sing a few songs for you. Her favorite right now is the Wonder Pets song or any that she comes up with on her own. She'll even do a little dance with it too!
She also loves a good tea party too!


She loves to fish. But also loves her baby dolls and will make anything she finds into a baby doll. Even an otter sprinkler!


She also loves to play in the water and gets pretty adventurous for 2!


She is quite the talker!! Her words amaze me and how well she speaks in sentences and tells stories. She is quite a smart little girl if I say so myself! I mean who else can say their kid was counting to 10 at 19 months, (She's up to 15 now!)?

She's not shy of strangers and very polite.

She thinks she's 4 and tries to keep up with her big cousins.

And oh yeah, she's got a bit of her Mom's feisty attitude, (at least I did when I was 2).

And in case you are wondering, the curls are natural. There is no way she'd sit still for me to curl it.

She keeps us on our toes and wears us out sometimes but we love her to pieces!
