Feeling a Little Lopsided
I've been feeling a little guilty lately because I have been posting quite a bit of pictures of Riley and Adrienne but none of our 2 wonderful nieces, Meghan and Emily. The problem is that they live in Oregon and we don't get a chance to see them very much. I was mentioning this issue to Diane and Al, (who are here in town to celebrate Zack's birthday on Saturday) and Diane mentioned she had pictures of the girls on their camera!
Here are some pictures of the girls at Easter and at Meghan's 6th birthday party. Meghan turned 6 on March 25th. She is getting so big! This year she started kindergarten and just loves it! Next year 1st grade!!!
Emily is 3 and may share her birthday with Baby B if he/she decides to come on September 10th. Grandma and Grandpa Bartsch are hoping that won't happen though because it will be difficult to celebrate birthdays in 2 different states. I have the solution, the Barry's need to move back to MN! :-) We miss you and love you bunches!

Sound Sleeper
Progress report on the big boy bed:

We have bought a railing for the twin bed to help him stay in bed. We tried it on the toddler bed but it made it into a crib again. Guess he'll just keep falling for a while longer. :-)
Well it is taking a while to set up a routine with Zack. Most afternoons and nights we have to sit in the chair in his room or lay down on the floor next to him until he falls asleep. Otherwise he plays and pulls everything out of his drawers.
In the morning there is quite a mess to pick up. It doesn't bother me to much because he's pretty content playing in there and I can snooze a little and take my shower before getting him.
I'm glad we started with the toddler bed before putting him in the twin. Much shorter drop! So far when he falls out of the crib he doesn't wake up!!!! Most nights before we go to bed we check to see where he is, is he in bed or on the floor? And most nights this is where we find him,
The other night Darin was in the room directly below Zack's bedroom and I was in the family room. He came darting out of the room in a panic asking me if I heard that? Heard what? Zack had fallen out of bed but I hadn't heard anything through the monitor and he hadn't made a peep. Darin came back down and reported that he was on the floor and sound asleep.
One night I actually watched him fall off the bed, (the night this picture was taken). I know it sounds mean but I wanted to see what was happening. He had his feet on the floor and upper body on the bed, like he was kneeling and saying his prayers. I was going to run to grab the camera but as I was leaving that is when the upper body began to fall to the floor. The picture above is where he landed, sound asleep! Didn't even stir!

UPDATE 05/30/08
So last night we were awaken at 12:30 by a screaming child. When I went into the room Zack was UNDER his bed!!!! Somehow he got under the bed completely! He was asleep at 11:30 when I went to bed and I had placed him in his bed at that time. I have no idea how he got under there!!! I think we may need a nanny cam to figure out what he is doing at night while we are sleeping.
Greatful for Tuesdays
I've been meaning to post this one for a long time. Tuesdays are one of my favorite days of the week in the summer time. Tuesday is golf day! My mom asked me to join her 4 some on her golfing league last summer and again this summer. My sisters graciously volunteered for Zack duty. So Tuesday morning we all meet at Mom and Dad's where Meg and Molly watch the kids, (they could come to my place but they don't want to deal with Coko too) while I get the morning off. Mom and I go golfing and then out to lunch. It's a wonderful break and I am greatly appreciative!!!!
You might ask what happens when I don't feel I can golf with a huge tummy anymore? That's when Meg takes my spot on the team and I help Mo with the kids.
So far golfing with a tummy hasn't hurt my game too much. Although the first couple of weeks I played it a little cautiously. I even participated in the TG Eagle shoot a few weeks ago too. 18 holes, no problem. :-)

23rd week baby update
We had a really quick doctors appointment on Friday. Just a quick check up on the heartbeat and measurement of my belly. Everything is going well and as expected. I'm measuring 23" which is what I should be at, an inch for each week of pregnancy. To my husbands amusement I now weigh the same as he does, sigh...
We had a funny little moment when the doctor asked if I had been feeling any movement since my last doctors appointment. Darin and I both began to laugh and Darin answered the question for me. This little one is a busy little bee like his/her brother, (although I don't remember Zack moving quite this much this early on). The baby is usually busy around 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Luckily not during the night while I'm trying to sleep, (knock on wood). I actually guided the doctor to where the baby was last kicking on the way to the doctors appointment and she found the heartbeat right away. Friday night Darin was feeling my tummy and I asked if he was feeling all of the movement and he said, "No, just your heartbeat". I told him, "That's not my heartbeat!" The baby was going gangbusters. He/She liked the ice cream I had just finished. :-) A sweet tooth like Mommy I guess. :-)
Next appointment is on the 20th of June. That's the glucose/gestational diabetes test. People usually complain about this test. I don't mind it. The drink isn't all that bad.
Hope you are all enjoying your Memorial Day weekend!

Mother's Day Pictures
Dan this should make you feel better...
Megan, my Uncle Doug (or Uncle Duck as Zack called him), my Auntie Annie and my Grandma Cooley
Proof of the men in the kitchen.
Here are a few pictures of our Mother's day celebration. We went to my parents for dinner and the boys cooked!

Daddy messed up Adee's hair. Can you tell we have a good hair gene in our family? Great-Grandpa Cooley and Daddy willing Adee to sleep. It didn't work. :-)

Riley has a bit of a crush on my cousin Timmer
The Bucket brigade.
The buckets were a gift from Meg to my Mom. When we were little my Grandma and Grandpa Munn used to give us pink buckets with water in them and a paint brush and tell us to go paint the sidewalk. Kept us busy for a long time!
Zack thought the paint brushes worked well in his hair.
All the Mothers
Grandma Trish trying to calm the natives. :-)
Riley's turn to read to Grandma
Cheese!
Hope all of you expecting moms, new moms and experienced moms all had a wonderful Mother's day!

Daddy "Broke" the Crib!
It took a while for him to go to sleep last night and he finally settled down on the floor rather than the bed. Not sure why,
We did put him back on his bed before we went to bed and I'm happy to say I didn't hear him fall out of bed. I was going to peak in on him at 5:30 this morning, (when I was up for the second time using the bathroom) to see if he was still in his bed but thought I might wake him and didn't want to risk it.
This morning when he woke up he created quite the messy room but was busy reading stories and looking innocent when I came in.
He is getting to be such a big boy! He's now wanting to drink out of big cups too. I can't believe he's going to be 2 in 16 days!!

A Few New Pictures
Just a few pictures from the past few weeks not related to baptisms or AHS.

Zack stacked these blocks on his own!

Playing in the "fort" with Daddy!

Feeding ducks in our backyard

Zacky's from Jamaica Man! Apparently they wear boots there... No we haven't needed the boots here for at least 2 weeks. I was getting ready to put them away and he found them.

A Busy Weekend
We had a very busy weekend. First we had the Animal Humane Society Walk on Saturday. My sister, Molly, is a big supporter. It was a bit cold as you can tell from the pictures but we still had lots of fun. Zack even got to pet an Alligator! You see, besides hundreds of breeds of dogs we also see cats, bunnies, goats, ferrets and many other different animals along the way.

Sunday was our niece, Adrienne's baptism, along with Uncle Josh's birthday. It was lots of fun and Adrienne was such a good baby. The dress she is wearing is Megan's baptismal dress. The couple you see with Chris and Meg at the church is Chris' brother Matt and his wife Amber, Adrienne's God Parents.
