Duck Soup 2008

This weekend was our 10th year in our favorite softball tournament, DUCK SOUP! If you haven't heard us discuss this tournament before it is like nothing you can imagine. There are crazy rules and different objectives each inning. Some include running the bases in reverse, batting opposite handed, and picking your position out of a hat, except the catcher, that position is always the one who causes the last out! The other best part of the tournament is dressing up in costume! Like in years past, we had 2 teams (our team names are Other Team and Other Team Too) and we usually have two themes for the costumes but early on we weren't sure of how many people we'd have for Sunday so if we needed to sub in it would be easier if we were all in the same costume. This year our theme was Board Games and we came in second for the costumes. In regards to the tournament neither team did great. Saturday we are guaranteed 2 games which place us in our brackets for Sunday. Sunday is single elimination. Both teams were in the 0-2 bracket and we ended up playing each other first thing this morning. It was lots of fun and the OT Too team won, (this happened to be Darin's team). We lost the 2nd game after that. It still was lots of fun and I missed playing a ton! Here are some pics from this weekend.

Darin and I were talking last night, we really miss softball! This was the first year we haven't played during the summer. It didn't work this year because two of us on the team were pregnant so we couldn't find enough women to play. Hope we can get the team back next year!
